Peer Supervisor in the
Emergency Services **program at Behavioral Health Network


The
Peer Specialist Supervisor will be responsible for the direct supervision of all Certified and non-certified Peer Specialists while providing general oversight of The Living Room.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the
Emergency Services program with the following:

  • Participates in providing peer support services ethically and responsibly.
  • Understands and models appropriate boundaries with The Living Room (TLR) guests, individuals served by Adult Mobile Crisis Intervention (AMCI), Access Center, and Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) and educates staff on boundaries as necessary.
  • Understands and models important values such as mutuality, transparency, and strengthsbased approach inherent to the work of Peers, and orients and educates staff to these values as needed.
  • Provides regular individual and group supervision with Certified Peer Specialists working under the programs of AMCI, TLR, CCS and Access.
  • Monitors Peers' completion of timely documentation in Carelogic and/or on BHN drives.
  • Provides annual performance evaluations for Peer Specialists.
  • Works effectively with other BHN Supervisors, Managers, and Directors in support of accomplishment of team tasks.
  • Ensures that The Living Room facility is well maintained.
  • Spends time at each location under CBHC as specified by Program Director to ensure staff are completing their respective duties and to provide feedback in the moment.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of community resources, and how to help individuals access them.
  • Provides effective and positive leadership to supervisees.
  • Responsible for training for new and existing staff and interns.
  • Maintains Peer Certification.

What are we looking for in a Peer Supervisor?

  • High School Diploma or GED (
    required).
  • Certified Peer Specialist Certification (
    required).
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience (
    required).
  • Experience supervising Peer staff (
    preferred).
  • Knowledge of grief and trauma.
  • Strong motivational interviewing skills, ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and to follow through on individual tasks.
  • Knowledge of serious and persistent mental illness, substance use, appropriate peer support interventions and access to community resources.
  • Works well with provider referral systems.
  • Demonstrates a willingness and ability to work with challenging and diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrates cultural competence in dealing with individuals with a variety of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficient at time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Displays empathetic skills, ability to establish rapport with individuals, family members, and service providers.
  • Good observation skills, thorough documentation skills, ability to provide solution focused, strengthsbased treatment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
