Job Description:
Under the direction and supervision of the Management Team, the Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of assigned
accounts by processing Import and Export shipments including Domestic, Household Goods and Warehouse related
shipments and all related activities for an assigned base of accounts. Assist with duties related to document preparation and
traffic coordination required to correctly process goods through customs and affect timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for all assigned functions for Import/Export, Domestic, Household Goods, Warehouse and Sales & Customer service.
Deal effectively in a Supervisory capacity, using tact, diplomacy and negotiation in the export/import related dept.
Ensures that all document preparation, coordination for the movement of goods from shippers' door to overseas destination(s), including but not limited to truck, rail, Air, Sea, and Customs are accurate.
Ensures compliance with any government agency such as, Customs & Border Protection, Export Administration regulations, Code of Federal regulations, or any other agency.
Ensure to book vessel or flight arrangement that will meet customer's requested ETA and deadlines.Coordinate / monitor surface and rail transportation via internet or phone to departing ports of departure to make sure that arrival has been completed timely.
Process vendor costs and sales related matters using an Oracle database/GTC System. Must keep accurate notes per shipment. Must review and update notes accordingly.Handles data entry processes, classifications and valuations.
Advise Dept manager of any problems and/or question any irregularities discovered within assigned transactions.
Handles routine notes and correspondence with the related parties involve on per shipment basis.
Assist to promote sales and to expand all revenue opportunities and to increase profit margins while keeping costs under strict control.
Maintain a positive attitude when conducting business with Customers, vendors and overseas agents, at all times.Leadership through example and role modeling. Encourage culture of maintaining high ethical and moral value standards, and respect for one another.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate high knowledge of International export/import principles, flow, logistics and familiarity with document preparation including, commercial invoices, bills of lading/ air waybills, certificates of origin.
Must be detail-oriented and able to set priorities.Demonstrate understanding in all areas of government's regulations including, reviewing regulations and processing documentation.
Must provide excellent Customer Service and able to work well in a team environment, as well as being able to work independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Import Export applications and various accounting software applications, i.e., Oracle Financial System.Must possess excellent data entry skills.
Must have strong math skills
Must be able to multitask and work under stressful conditions.
High School Diploma, some college coursework preferred
Physical Requirements/Other
Directly supervises employees in the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work.
Work Environment – The noise level in the work environment is usual
Must be able to travel occasionally and drive a car/vehicle.
