Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients' comfort and well-being. The RN assists physicians during examinations and treatments, administers medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs. Additionally, they observe and maintain records on patient care and progress. The RN plays a key role in planning and implementing patient care, ensuring safe procedures are followed and providing leadership to support staff.

Located near Padre Island, CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South offers a range of surgical and medical services to patients in south Corpus Christi. With 158 beds, the hospital provides services including pediatrics, obstetrics, intensive care, emergency care, and advanced diagnostic imaging. It also houses a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for premature or special needs babies, allowing mothers to stay close to their infants during recovery.

Requirements:

Associate's Degree in Nursing
One year of nursing experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License
BLS (American Heart Association)
ACLS required for experienced RNs at time of hire; new graduates must obtain ACLS by the end of the orientation period.
NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
De-escalation training required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
TNCC required for experienced RNs within 6 weeks of hire; new graduates must obtain TNCC within 18 months.
PALS required for experienced RNs at time of hire; new graduates must obtain PALS by the end of the orientation period.
