Responsibilities:

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is a freestanding, 122 bed facility specializing in general adult psych, adolescents, geriatric, and women's services.

The hospital is located in southwest Houston serving the Houston and surrounding communities.

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is conveniently located between the Galleria and Meyer land shopping districts, and is only minutes away from the Houston Medical Center, Downtown, and Midtown.

Our continuum of care includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to stabilize symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other behavioral health disorders.


Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting activities and supporting company leaders with financial analysis and information.

This position ensures that the internal controls are monitored to safeguard the facility's assets and that the systems generate accurate and timely financial reports.


Key Responsibilities include:


  • Record journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts during monthly closing process to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
  • Assist with monthend close.
  • Monitor adherence to budget and provide explanations of variances to the CFO.
  • Provide overall accounting and financial support to departmental managers, hospital administrators, and other business leader as required.
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports.
  • Make recommendations concerning methods of reducing costs and increasing income as applicable.
  • Assist with audit and tax preparation.
  • Assist with preparation of cost report package and annual survey.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all employee, patient, and company financial information at all times.

Qualifications:

_ Education_:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required


_ Experience_:

A minimum of two (2) years in a financial management position or three (3) to five (5) years accounting experience, healthcare setting preferred.

Patient financial accounting experience preferred.
