RN NURSING SUPERVISOR
JOB SUMMARY:
The Nursing Supervisor embraces the philosophy of person centered care, and manages the direct provision of quality health care provided to all residents of Meriden Health and Rehab as assigned by the DNS and is responsible for the direct supervision of all staff assigned to those Units.
Works with the DNS to ensure that the staff maintains the care as outlined in the residents plan as outlined.
Provide orientation to job specifics in the Health Care Department, and in the absence of the DNS, may assume the duties as designated and authorized by the Administrator/DNS.
ESSENTIAL/FUNCTIONS:
- Assumes responsibility for clinical care/ operations during shift.
- Knowledge of resident's physical, psychological, and social status in the licensed areas including those
- Responsible for the scheduling of staff or the reassignment of staff in the event of absenteeism or in
and budget of the Health Care Services.
- Participates in the development of a staff orientation and training program in corroboration with Staff

- Conducts probationary an annual performance appraisal of licensed personnel with the DNS as requested.
- Evaluates all licensed personnel at the end of orientation and annually or more often as necessary in conjunction with CDC. Teachers and mentors licensed staff in supervision of Health Care Assistants. Participates in and assists the charge nurses in the disciplinary and evaluative process of health care assistants.
- With administrative support is able to functions as the DNS in her absence.
- Works collaboratively with the Infection Control Nurse.
- Distributes and ensures completion of monthly Pharmacy Audits.
- Participates in the development, maintenance and implementation of the Facilities QAPI Program
- Recommends to the DNS the equipment needs of the Nursing Service
- Keeps the DNS informed of changes in resident conditions, staffing and
