    Job Title: Billing Specialist at SynergenX

    SynergenX is currently seeking a dedicated Billing Specialist to join our team ONSITE. This position is all about ensuring precise billing, submitting claims promptly, handling rejections and denials, monitoring claims status, documenting account activities, and managing adjustments and collections from commercial insurance payers. Your role is crucial in maintaining the smooth flow of medical billing information while guaranteeing healthcare providers receive proper compensation for their services. The ideal candidate should possess critical thinking skills, have a good grasp of commercial insurance payment methods, and demonstrate proficiency in utilizing the billing system efficiently.

    This position requires presence ONSITE from Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM in the Houston, TX area. Remote candidates will not be considered.

    Primary Responsibilities (additional duties may apply):

    • Supervise and organize the work of the billing and collection team.
    • Submit clean claims to third-party payers accurately and promptly.
    • Manage patient eligibility procedures effectively.
    • Ensure precise setup of billing rules on accounts following payer regulations.
    • Review charges to determine correct ICD-10 and CPT codes for reporting physician services.
    • Enter data accurately into the billing system for charge completion.
    • Coordinate with center directors to ensure proper coding of services.
    • Monitor and ensure all billable services are appropriately documented for billing.
    • Execute batch processes for coded charges efficiently.
    • Timely posting of payments.
    • Collaborate with payers and A/R staff to resolve outstanding claim processing issues.
    • Investigate and resolve billing issues with clients and patients.
    • Participate in meetings and developmental training sessions as required.
    • Meet individual and team goals while upholding HIPAA compliance standards.
    • Maintain internal controls and billing software systems.
    • Reconcile billings with the accounts receivable ledger.
    • Continuously strive to enhance operations, decrease turnaround times, and ensure quality customer service.
    • Represent the department and the organization positively at all times according to established standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Prior experience in coding and billing
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong teamwork capabilities and customer service orientation
