    Overview:

    Lard Oil Company provides Industrial Lubricants, Fuel, and various Lubrication and Reliability Services as the industry leader across South Louisiana and Mississippi. For the plants we service, keeping machinery running reliably requires a lot of time, care, and expertise – often more than they can spare. Our Reliability Services division meets this need by executing these tasks for our customers, the right way.

    We are seeking a Lubrication Specialist within this division who takes as much pride in their craft as we do. This position will be embedded within our customer's facility to monitor equipment health, implement practical solutions, and increase the facility's overall uptime through sound lubrication practices.

    Job Description:

    The Lubrication Specialist bolsters the plant's reliability program by completing lubrication routes on rotating equipment, collaborating with internal & external team members as the on-site expert, and fine-tuning lubrication practices to maximize equipment life. Most of this work will be carried out in the field, with responsibilities to include:

    · Overseeing condition monitoring tasks for rotating equipment by routinely taking oil samples, temperature readings, and monitoring lab analysis results

    · Documenting and communicating issues observed with recommended actions

    · Collaborating with the Reliability team on corrective actions and preventative maintenance strategies

    · Performing oil changes on equipment at an established frequency or as dictated by oil analysis results

    · Greasing bearings attentively with the quantity and type specified

    · Installing, monitoring, and maintaining automatic grease systems

    · Operating lube oil filtration equipment routinely and as issues arise

    · Modify equipment to with quick connects, sight glasses, and desiccant breathers to prevent contamination with the lube oil and improve PMs

    · Utilize CMMS software to execute tasks, capture information, and present reports to customer management

    · Apply technology-enabled tags to assets

    · Change out desiccant breathers and lube oil filters as needed

    · Monitor the inventory and cleanliness of the lube oil storage area for efficient handling practices

    The Lubrication Specialist reports to the Reliability Services Engineer, is supported by the Field Professional, and works alongside plant personnel and contractors.

    Education:

    · High school diploma or equivalent

    Qualifications for Success:

    · Safety & Preparation – prepares for each task by arriving with the proper tools, identifying and eliminating any risk of injury, and is vocal when seeing any signs of safety being jeopardized

    · Initiative – leverages training and experience to take control of a project and produce valuable results

    · Mechanically inclined – can simplify machinery into its simplest parts, narrowing down where issues may exist

    · Takes great pride in their quality of work – deeply motivated by the success of their craft and problem-solving in general

    · Effective communicator – able to illustrate issues observed, their impact on production, and recommendations for improvement

    · Technologically sound – ability to grasp and leverage technology to accomplish a task

    · Curiosity – eager to learn and hone their skill set by asking questions to better understand how things work and their impact on the facility

    · Team player – show respect and genuine interest while working with others at the plant to build relationships and achieve shared goals

    Requirements:

    · Must be a US citizen with an active driver's license and good driving record

    · Able to perform work safely in the plant environment, including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking up/down stairs or ladders, and climbing in, under, and around large equipment

    · Able to work overtime with occasional call outs as dictated by the customer

    · Must be able to obtain a TWIC card

    Preferred Qualifications:

    · Experience in a plant environment working with rotating equipment

    · MLT or other lubrication certifications

    · Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

    · Active TWIC card

    Experience Level: 0-5 years

    Job Type: Full time; hourly, 8-hour shift, 5 days per week

    Pay: $22-$29 per hour depending on experience and education
