We are currently seeking caring people with a passion for working with young people to be classroom assistants in our boys division elementary and middle school.


Responsibilities include

Create a warm, caring, and safe environment Students are at the heart of what we do. When they know that they are cared for, students come ready to learn. This includes building nurturing relationships with students and providing age-appropriate levels of student supervision, classroom rules, and routines.


Assist in implementing lesson plans You will be supporting grade level teachers in teaching English, Math, Science, and Social Studies at the elementary level. You will work with individual students and support them in their learning.


Other responsibilities As assigned by the Head of School or the grade level teacher.

  • Prior experience working with elementaryaged children.
  • Commitment to nurturing strong relationships with children.
  • Warm and caring, but also structured and able to enforce routines.

Location:
Torah Academy is located in Brookline and Brighton, Massachusetts


Hours:


Elementary:
Mondays-Thursdays, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., Fridays 12:00 - 2:30 p.m.

; Middle School:

Mondays-Thursdays 1:45-5:00 p.m., Fridays 12:00-2:30 p.m.


Salary:
$20-$30/hour

About Torah Academy
Torah Academy is a preK-8 school that has been in the Boston area for 40 years. We foster a supportive professional environment, including extensive professional development, growth, and advancement opportunities. Our students spend the mornings studying and celebrating Kodesh, including Hebrew, Torah, and Jewish laws and customs. In the afternoons students engage in general studies according to their grade level. Because of the intense nature of the morning curriculum our students are pretty sophisticated in their thinking. We are seeking general studies teachers to match that level of rigor in their content areas.

Our general studies curriculum is modeled after the public school frameworks, so familiarity with grade level secular academic expectations is a big plus.

Torah Academy contains a boys division and a girls division; students are separated by gender starting in first grade.
