The Audiology Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in handling authorizations for audiologists within CALHNS promptly. By ensuring patients receive timely authorizations and addressing any queries from staff or patients, this position significantly impacts patient satisfaction and overall experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Audiology assistants enhance patient care accessibility, improve productivity, and reduce costs by managing non-professional tasks.
  • Submit authorizations for audiology appointments based on insurance requirements.
  • Maintain and update Audiologist/Hearing Instrument Specialists schedule.
  • Contact insurance companies to verify hearing aid benefits before consultations.
  • Follow up with patients post hearing aid consultations to assess readiness to purchase.
  • Complete tasks in the audiology work queue in EPIC.
  • Ensure proper training of audiologists and maintain schedule accuracy.

Daily tasks

  • Obtain authorizations
  • Schedule various audiology appointments
  • Handle walk-in hearing aid issues
  • Manage package pickups and deliveries
  • Maintain inventory and supplies
  • Perform any assigned duties

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The role involves office work, communication with individuals in person or over the phone, and mobility within the office and facility. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and travel to different locations as needed.



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education / Work Experience:
- HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience

The ideal candidate must have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, multitasking abilities, and compliance with safety protocols including PPE and masking requirements. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for this role.

- Proficiency in Google Suite and EPIC
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer service abilities
