Associate Director, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Product Owner

Join our Translational Medicine and Cancer Biomarker Development (TM/CBD) teams within Early Oncology at AstraZeneca, where we strive to transform oncology patient care through the development of mechanistically-based and clinically deployable biomarkers.

We are seeking a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Product Owner to support the strategy, implementation, and maintenance of a LIMS for sample and experimental workflow management across all our laboratories.

This role is a strategic one, responsible for defining the product roadmap, collecting and prioritizing requirements, and supporting planning and change management across all TM/CBD labs.


Accountabilities:

As the LIMS Product Owner, you will play a strategic role in establishing the LIMS Product/Product line roadmap.

You will collaborate with IT to collect and prioritize requirements from differing stakeholder groups and establish communication channels with users to understand needs and collect feedback.

You will also manage the product lifecycle, including planning, license management, risk management, change management, contracting and documentation. Additionally, you will conduct operational readiness activities in support of releases and new product launches.

Define and manage the strategy and execution for GCP validation of the LIMS platform as per AZ compliance requirements, in collaboration with relevant IT and quality management team members.


Essential Skills/Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of professional work experience working on a software or process improvement delivery team.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a product owner supporting a labbased LIMS.
  • Experience with GxP system validation or related regulatory processes.
  • Understanding of infrastructure and software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Ability to understand technical workflows, integrations, APIs and translate business/user requirements to stories.
  • Experience working with external vendors to deliver a product.

Desirable Skills/Experience:


  • Ability to think outside current processes and make recommendations.
  • Broad working knowledge and experience with scientific laboratories, processes and sample management needs.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
