SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Position is responsible for improvement and execution of equipment and facility maintenance programs at all KMC operations. This responsibility will encompass preventive, predictive, and repair maintenance.

Activities include Maintenance Department staff management and development, spare parts plans, utility and infrastructure management, building systems, and all contract services related to equipment, facilities, and grounds.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs, implements, and executes site level maintenance and facilities plan including corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance process to maximize machine reliability and capability. Ensure the effective scheduling of all equipment/system PM's, inspections, repair activities are consistent with safety, quality and operating standards.
  • Maintain local spare parts, tools and equipment, purchase replacement parts and components as needed and maintain knowledge of operations to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the facility and systems.
  • Oversight of the maintenance management system and ensure its proper full utilization.
  • Develop, research, and submit changes for equipment and machinery replacements/upgrades that will reduce equipment downtime, maintenance costs and time and still maintain our standards of quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, and others as required, to review, develop, and implement innovative changes, actions, and decisions that will reduce cost, create process improvements and/or provide a safer work environment for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards along with all applicable regulatory requirements. Manage and ensure departmental compliance of KMC safety programs such as the Lockout/Tagout program and electrical safety.
  • Develop and implement energy conservation programs and drive initiatives. Ensure environmental compliance with all state, local and federal requirements.
  • Responsible for the training and development of the current maintenance staff. Review, plan, and coordinate all job assignments, set work priorities, and ensure the teams completion of projects in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Create and maintain metrics for the maintenance department to determine effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
  • Manage, develop and monitor maintenance and facilities vendor services, establishing contracts and responsibilities, ensuring work activity meets requirements, leading new vendor selection when required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of latest products, equipment, processes, and technology relative to KMC's operations.
