ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a
Fire Alarm Test & Inspection Technician to join our team


As a Fire Alarm Test & Inspection Technician, you're responsible for performing the inspection and testing, of fire alarm systems for compliance with applicable life-safety and fire-safety requirements as mandated by standards and codes, manufacturers' requirements, federal, state, and local ordinances, customer requirements, and the expectations and requirements of the company.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Perform inspection and testing of all types of fire alarm systems
  • Perform inspection and testing of backflow prevention devices as required by USC 10 and state and local codes, separate certification requirements may be necessary based upon the jurisdiction
  • Assist/coordinate with all forms of life safety system testing
  • Document all testing findings in accordance with NFPA and local requirements
  • Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for followup, quotes, questions, or concerns
  • Discuss deficiencies noted with a customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
  • Document all testing findings in accordance with NFPA and local requirements
  • Perform fire extinguisher duties 1020% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 plus years experience in fire alarm systems
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • NICET II (Fire Alarm Systems or Fire Alarm Test and Inspect)
  • FA1 Fire Alarm Systems (Seattle Certification) preferred
  • FEX1 Fire Extinguishers (Seattle Certification) preferred
  • E4 Wet/dry chemical fire extinguishing system preferred
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to travel overnight over multiple days occasionally

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles
  • Occasional exposure to working in high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • The noise level is generally moderate.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Frequently lift and carry toolboxes, tools, equipment, parts, cabling, and/or wiring
  • Must be able to push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent ladder climbing, often while carrying up to 50 pounds
