You are invited to join our non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation as a Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) Specialist.

We at D'Veal Family and Youth Services (D'Veal) understand it is vital that behavioral health challenges of children and families in the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles County be met with services consistent with the dynamic needs of today's world, and within the parameters of various governmental agencies.

For over 25 years, we have continually worked to create effective strategies and approaches that do the greatest good in the community and for each of the families we serve through community and school-based programs.

The vision of D'Veal is to be the recognized leader in behavioral healthcare services, family wellness, enhancement and empowerment within diverse neighborhoods in Southern California.


Our salary range is between $23-$27 per hour ($47,840-$56,160 per year), depending on experience

Summary/Objective:
The TBS Specialist acts as a member of a multidisciplinary team in serving clients and families. Provide a safe and supportive program environment, and specialized case management and other counseling duties as required.

The target population includes children and adults within the community who are suffering from emotional, behavioral, psychological problems, psychiatric distress and are in need of referrals to community services.


D'Veal is here to help you become a successful TBS Specialist, so you can focus on your clients.

As a D'Veal provider you will:


  • Assesses client's or family's needs and eligibility for therapeutic behavioral services.
  • Works with clients, families and appropriate community agencies to coordinate and facilitate services for clients as it relates to TBS goals.
  • Home visits to strengthen network of relationships and decrease isolation.
  • Assistance in developing community living skills and utilizing community resources by discussing common experiences. Reports any concerns to the appropriate person (supervisor or psychiatrist) if related to medication.
  • Participates in planning treatment programs and in dispositional and discharge plans.
  • Maintains family contact regarding client adjustments.
  • Attends staff, team and department meetings.
  • Attends inservices, staffing and other meetings with supervisor's approval. May be appointed to committees.
  • Participates in agency and community planning and education.
  • Provides selected agency services to identified caseload; refers clients and families to other services as appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains client case records, plans and reports.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

  • An efficient electronic health record (EHR) that makes documentation quick and easy
  • You will be assigned weekly service delivery/billable hours (generally 2630 hours per week on a 40hour work week)
  • Documentation will be submitted in a timely manner to meet the 24 hour reporting deadline
  • Saved interventions
  • Centralized scheduler/interactive calendar
  • Ability to view prior note/sidebyside view
  • Zoom integration
  • Training opportunities and standards of care to support professional development
    You'll work with a dedicated support team that manages administrative tasks, so you can focus on doing what you love.

Our support team assists with:


  • Insurance verification
  • Billing and reimbursement
  • IT systems support

We're looking for individuals with the following:

  • You have a related degree such as a Bachelor's Degree in Social work or Behavioral Sciences or other related fields
  • You may substitute with experience; Proof of 2 years providing case management or related duties for each 1 year of education
  • Bilingual in Spanish is not necessary, but let us know if you are
  • Have a valid CA Driver's License
  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID19
