Job Summary:

The Development & Communications Coordinator is responsible for reporting to the Director of Development and Communications provide project coordination of TCC's development and communication projects by taking a lead role in the design and development of TCC's communication and marketing efforts and media relations


Focus Areas include:
Digital Communications, Print Communications, Public and Government Relations, Event Planning, Fundraising Efforts, Graphic Design, Web Design/Webpage Management


Media & Communications:


  • Write and submit press releases to local media to promote events, grants and other TCC programs and services
  • Working with TCC leadership and staff, Clinic managers and staff, TCC vendors and consultants to coordinate communication projects from start through completion
  • Draft layouts and coordinate printing of TCC's social impact report, annual reports, etc.
  • Design, create posts to Social Media, i.e. Face Book, Instagram, X, TikTok and other
  • Track for review and respond to Social Media posts comments including Yelp, Facebook, Instagram and others
  • Develop and update annual social media posting calendar
  • Develop video content, including scripting, shooting, and editing content for YouTube and other channels, enhancing multimedia communication efforts.
  • Assist to gather information to create stories, videos of TCC staff, patients and other constituents for newsletters, annual report and other materials
  • Create snapshot stories by interviewing of TCC staff, patients and other constituents and visiting sites, programs, events for use in newsletters, annual report and other materials
  • Take or obtain photos/videos of staff, patients, events as needed and gather and organize photos by categories
  • Follow national, state and local clinic association updates (Friday Update)
  • Utilize webbased software to create and manage TCC public content such as Canva, Linktree, JotForms, & Constant Contact
  • Develop reports of social media metrics for CEO and for Dept. evaluation and research ways to increase TCC visibility
  • Maintain Media and Political Contact List
  • Update TCC Media Packets

Program Coordination and Support:


  • Project coordination of special projects such as website redesign, social impact reports and other projects as assigned
  • Coordinate Volunteer Program including event volunteer recruitment, management and onboarding process
  • Coordinate Reach Out and Read (ROR) program including new book orders, and gently used book donations and working with facilities and HEO Dept.
  • Setup of fundraising campaigns such as set up of BW Website, Long Beach Gives, Giving Tuesday and other online, mailing or other fundraising activities
  • Assists with gathering information for site specific signage including visiting sites, taking pictures and coordinating with clinic site managers
  • Updates contact lists and maintains various databases including Constant Contact and assists with Raisers Edge and mailing list updates
  • Assist Administrative Assistant with Reach Out and Read (ROR) book deliveries to clinic sites

Fundraising Events and Campaigns:


  • Participate in all Fundraising Events and Campaigns including event planning, coordination of logistics, communications, setup of events through tear down
  • Assists with event sponsorship requests to businesses, corporations, vendors and community based organizations
  • Invite local politicians to events and promote on their calendars
  • Update and Maintain Annual Department Fundraising Calendar
