Role Overview:
General Manager, Lorena, TX

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to spearhead and oversee our facility in Lorena, TX.

In this pivotal role you'll be at the helm of the start-up and supervision of a multi-acre greenhouse, ensuring unparalleled performance in people, plants, and processes.

Your leadership will directly influence our ambitious revenue target of $250m in the coming years, making this role instrumental to our success trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and motivate your team to achieve greenhouse business goals, foster a culture of commitment to the BrightFarms' ethos
Oversee all facets associated with the farm, both direct and indirect
Ensure utmost employee and food safety, alongside efficient order fulfillment, and revenue management
Implement production strategies, manage labor, balance resources, and ensure seamless facility maintenance
Pioneer our ambition of becoming a lean organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Translate objectives into actionable plans for the local team, ensuring effective execution
Maintain an immaculate, safe, and inviting greenhouse environment
Develop and guide the greenhouse management team, ensuring alignment with BrightFarms' vision
Oversee supply chain and logistics intricacies of the greenhouse
Address and mitigate challenges to production goals, anticipating potential issues

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience: 10-15 years in manufacturing, distribution, or agriculture/processing. A background in food is highly desirable

Adaptability:
Proficiency in structured organizational dynamics with a flair for startup or scale-up environments

Performance-Driven:
Demonstrable history of achieving targets while optimizing spend and quality

Leadership:
Innate leadership qualities, coupled with a knack for inspiring, motivating, and nurturing teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Ability to forge cross-functional relationships and drive outcomes through collaboration

Lean Business Acumen:
Familiarity with Lean Business Operations tools like standard work, 5-S, visual management, and root-cause analysis

Flexibility to train at one or more of our existing sites in the months prior to location start up.
