Summary

Responsibilities

Analyze business impact and exposure, based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities and risks.
Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement information-security-related hardware and software, including developing business cases for security investments.
Create security standards for firewalls, wireless access, other network devices, servers, systems, applications, and databases.
Monitor security risk, troubleshoot problem areas, and communicate security risks and solutions to business partners and IT staff.
Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security software and equipment.
Assist in the coordination and completion of information security operations documentation.
Report to management concerning residual risk, vulnerabilities and other security exposures, including misuse of information assets and noncompliance.
Advise security administrators on normal and exception-based processing of security authorization requests.
Perform control and vulnerability assessments, identify control weaknesses, assess effectiveness of existing controls, and recommend remedial action.

Responsible for the execution of risk assessment activities, analyzing the results of audits (performed by other groups) to produce recommendations of acceptable risk and risk mitigation strategies.

Assist and provide guidance to more junior Security Engineers.
Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)

High School diploma or GED
4+ years of experience in Information Technology and/or IT Security
Additional Qualifications

Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols

Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.

Advanced knowledge of network security, firewalls -Juniper / Cisco / Checkpoint, cryptograph, and application and database security
Strong working knowledge of authentication and access control, and operations and security monitoring tools
Strong troubleshooting skills
Bachelor's degree preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Management, or related field
