Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Resource Development Assistant to join our team. The Resource Development Assistant will support the Resource Department in various daily functions as well as special events.


Duties:


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


Resource Development Assistant

  • Process daily and monthly donations (code and copy) and record in DonorQuest
  • Structured database cleanup and maintenance, regular updating of names and addresses based on internet research, obituaries, and available contacts
  • Maintain toner, paper, letterhead, envelopes, and paper supplies at the copier station
  • Prepare mail to post daily, including obtaining necessary signatures, stuffing envelopes, and including marketing materials if needed
  • Weekly donor appreciation
  • Daily proofreading of donor appreciation letters
  • Use postage machine on a daily basis to prepare mail
  • Work with business office to perform monthend balancing requirements
  • Produce/generate reports from DonorQuest database when needed
  • Proofread and suggest edits to grant proposals written by the Grant Writer
  • Send sympathy cards and other recognition to donors
  • Assist development dept. with writing, proof reading, research & mailings as requested
  • Participate in Development initiatives to identify new opportunities, identify potential donors, and otherwise support the activities of the Resource Development Department
  • Help with special events

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist in other areas of the food bank as assigned
  • Willingness and ability to attend local, regional, or national conferences and meetings as requested
  • Completion of special assignments, request, and projects as assigned
  • Maintain a clean and orderly office environment
  • Maintenance of a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times
  • Evening and weekend hours as requested
  • Performs web research

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word a must
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and ability to follow directions a must
  • Accurate data entry and writing skills, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling a must
  • Ability to operate standard office equipmenta must
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills
  • Basic understanding and grasp of relational databases a plus
  • Familiarity with design programs like Canva a plus
  • Must have at least 1 year of administrative or executive related experience
  • Must have internet browsing experience
  • Excellent listening/telephone skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work in an unsupervised work environment
  • Ability to make quick decisions
  • Type 40 WPM

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Associate degree or equivalent life experience
  • Experience with a nonprofit organization or food bank helpful
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs
  • DonorQuest or database experience a plus

Pay:
From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
