Program Overview:
The Sallie Mae Internship program seeks to attract and develop exceptional early talent while adding value to our organization.
Our goal is to tie academic learning into a practical business setting while fostering professional and personal growth within a student's area of focus.
Over the course of the semester, interns will gain exposure to senior leaders, attend meetings, work alongside mentors, and receive valuable performance feedback.
As an Associate Experience Designer at Sallie Mae, you'll help to craft the future of our digital experiences and be on the forefront of our mission to power confidence as students begin their unique journeys.
Over the course of the summer you'll collaborate as a member of our agile team, working with product owners, strategists, developers, and senior designers to understand customer pain points and provide solutions that address their needs.
- What You'll Do
- Working under the guidance and mentorship of senior designers:
- Design end-to-end flows and visuals and individually contribute to the feature set
- Partner with PMs, engineers, researchers and business stakeholders to carry your solution to final execution
- Quickly solve issues with your crossfunctional leads Performs industry competitive analysis, industry best practice analysis, etc.
- Conducts stakeholder and customer interviews, heuristic analysis, and business walkthroughs, etc.

Minimum education, skills and experience required.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university studying User Experience, Product Design, Visual Design, Sociology or similar field
- Possess a portfolio of work that highlights your designs and process
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Available to work up to 40 hours per week between 6/03/24 and 8/23/202

- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills with individuals at all levels.
- Strong follow through and multitasking skills, and attention to detail.
