JOB DESCRIPTION QC Lab Technician (4657)


Location:
East Houston, TX area

Position Summary:
The
QC Lab Technician is responsible for analysis of raw material, in-process, and finished products.

  • Essential Functions:_
- _Perform chemical analysis and basic lab tests on in-process, finished and finished goods_
- _Perform a variety of quality inspections on all packaging lines and products_
- _Testing can include wet chemistry, pH, volumetric titrations, freeze point analysis, water analysis, RA, specific gravity, Karl Fischer, cold crank, viscometer, etc_
- _Performing incoming inspections on pallets and drums_
- _Check paperwork on incoming chemical shipments to ensure it meets specifications_
- _Receive raw materials and complete the necessary paperwork to ensure compliance_
- _Ensure all monitoring and measuring devices in the lab are calibrated according to schedule and all supporting documentation is maintained and readily available_
- _Complete all test reports per customer specification and provide customer lab with representative samples for analysis and approval. Must ensure all supporting documentation is completed, maintained, and readily available_
- _Maintain product/batch retain samples and inventory_
- _Maintain cleanliness and appearance of lab_
- _Implement corrective and preventative actions when necessary in order to improve and/or enhance the quality of products and services provided_
- _Maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008_

  • Qualifications:_
  • Bachelor's degree in science field preferred
  • Skills and Abilities:_
  • Basic Math and Computer
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Understanding of basic lab safety
  • Some knowledge of SPC and quality principles is desired, but not required
  • Type of Assignment:_
  • Temp hire
  • Shift Schedule:_

Evenings:
M-F 5pm - 1:30am

Training will be 8am - 4:30pm

Must be willing to work OT and weekends as needed

$19-20/hr
