At the Department of Civil Engineering, a project position for technical support in the expansion of broadband infrastructure (m/f/d) is available as soon as possible.

The project position (limited until December 31, 2024) is classified according to EG 9b TVÖD (AT/TECHN).

After the project is completed, due to expected turnover, there will be opportunities for continued employment in the Department of Civil Engineering or in other areas of the city of Dortmund.

The job offer is aimed at technicians and masters with a focus on civil engineering, as well as construction technicians.

The Department of Civil Engineering builds, operates, manages, maintains, and cares for the city's infrastructure, which includes 1,780 km of roads, 274 bridges, 150,000 street and facility trees, 800 hectares of green spaces, as well as over 50,000 lighting points and 650 traffic lights.

As part of this responsibility, the Department of Civil Engineering is also responsible for the construction of a comprehensive fiber optic and broadband network to connect various commercial areas, schools, fire departments, hospitals, and residential areas.

Your main tasks will include:

Restoration of traffic surfaces that have been excavated using innovative laying techniques to their original, technically equivalent state
Construction preparation, including coordination with contracted companies and public relations (citizen information)
Monitoring of construction execution
Assessment and documentation of traffic or excavation areas in the
