    Job Description

    THOR Solutions is looking for a Senior Marine Engineer with expertise in marine propulsion system design and integration to join their team supporting the U.S. Coast Guard in Washington DC.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Review and provide recommendations for USCG Cutter acquisition programs.
    • Evaluate and make suggestions on the design and operation of USCG vessels and small boats.
    • Offer engineering support for propulsion-related technical issues in the USCG fleet.
    • Participate in design reviews for new Coast Guard acquisition cutter and boat propulsion systems.
    • Track design approvals and implementation of changes.
    • Engage in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and working groups with USCG and Navy entities.
    • Support Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) with shipyards.
    • Prepare technical documents and analyses as requested.
    • Analyze technical reports and provide recommendations to the Government.

    Location: Onsite at the USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC.

    Pay: Starting at $100K based on qualifications.

    Travel: Expected up to 10%.

    US Citizenship Required: Due to federal contract requirements.

    Secret Security Clearance Eligibility Required: Eligibility for a DoD Secret security clearance.

    Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
    • Supervisory experience is a plus.

    Specific Experience:

    • Over 10 years of experience in marine vessels design and evaluation.
    • Varied experience with ship propulsion and control systems.
    • Familiarity with engineering software and Microsoft Office.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

    Other Skills:

    • Experience with AutoCAD and Navisworks preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other productivity software.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
