- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities
- Assist with patient assessments and document findings
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, conditions, and selfcare techniques
- Perform basic medical procedures such as phlebotomy, catheterization, and wound care
- Triage patients based on their condition and prioritize care accordingly
- Utilize electronic medical record systems such as Cerner and Epic for documentation
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge and experience in pediatrics, acute care, primary care, or hospital settings
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and interpretation
- Ability to perform various medical procedures including catheterization and phlebotomy
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems such as Cerner and Epic
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately document patient information
- Strong critical thinking and problemsolving abilities to assess patient conditions and make appropriate decisions
