RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manufacture/Repair/Maintain thermoforming molds constructed out of various media following input from PD Program Engineers, CAD dept, and/or working from customer drawings.
- Manufacture jigs and fixtures for downstream production processing such as trim jigs, check jigs or paint jigs as required.
- Prepare information from vehicles to assist in the development process such as copy castings or templates.
- Undertake or assist PD Engineering with initial vehicle fitments of first articles.
- Liaise with engineers and CAD staff as required on product design and engineering tasks and problem solve as required.
- Responsible for ensuring the objectives in design and engineering of products for tooling for EGR's TPD division are met in a technically feasible, robust, and timely manner as dictated by the Workshop Manager, Program Engineers and TPD Product Development Manager.
- Other duties and tasks necessary to meet business needs, given under the direction of the Workshop Supervisor and/or Workshop Manager.
- Complete machinery competency check lists to the satisfaction of the Workshop Manager and HR dept.
- Monitor levels of stock required for the day to day running of the PD Tool Shop and advise workshop manager of shortages or items requiring to be ordered.
- Maintain a clean working environment and keep tools in good condition including EGR's property.
- Work within EGR's quality and environmental systems.
- Work within EGR's health and safety guidelines
- Work harmoniously with the entire PD team.
PRE-REQUISITES:
- General knowledge in use of hand and power tools. (screwdrivers, cordless drills, impact guns, etc)
- General knowledge in use of measuring instruments (tape measure, caliper, micrometer, etc)
- General knowledge in woodworking and mechanical maintenance.
- General knowledge of thermoforming process is preferred.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
