Obsidian Information Technologies is a dynamic and forward-thinking technology consultancy that specializes in creating groundbreaking software solutions for a diverse range of industries.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Application Architect to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our clients' technology landscapes.

Successful candidates will initially be offered contract enagagements before permanent employment is to be considered.

Based on the client engagement,Architects can choose to work on-site for our local clients, or join our international teams as a remote consultant.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications
Develop high-level application architectures and detailed design documents, ensuring scalability, modularity, and maintainability of the software
Implement best practices in software design, including design patterns, data structures, and algorithm optimization
Guide and mentor development teams to ensure the successful implementation of architectural designs
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to architectural guidelines
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in software development, emerging technologies, and industry trends to propose innovative solutions
Identify potential risks and challenges in the application architecture and devise mitigation strategies
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and overall product quality.

REQUIREMENTS
A post-graduate degree (Honour, Master's or Ph.
D.) in Computer Science or a related field - OR - More than 5 years' experience as an Application Architect
Proven experience in software architecture, with a focus on designing scalable and distributed applications
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, C++, Python, or similar
In-depth understanding of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices architecture and web services
Solid knowledge of database design and optimization techniques
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams
A strong portfolio of past projects showcasing successful application architecture designs is a plus.
