Teamwork The People Team is a team of leaders who are passionate about bringing the HUMAN part of Human Resources back in focus. This role will actively partner with our HR Business Partner, Associate Experience Specialist, and Corporate Director of Human Resources


Position Overview:


Benefit Specialist main areas of focus include:

  • Benefit Programs _
  • Develop and design comprehensive employee benefits packages considering health insurance, retirement plans, disability coverage and other benefits
  • Collaborate with leadership to align benefit offerings with organizational goals and associate needs
  • Evaluate and advise the selection of vendors to provide the best value for associate benefits
  • Develop and manage wellness programs to promote associate health and wellbeing
  • Leave Administration _
  • Develop, implement, and communicate leave policies and procedures in alignment with legal requirements and organizational guidelines
  • Serve as point of contact for associates seeking information or assistance with leaverelated matters
  • Receive and process associate lave requests, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate
- records of associate leave balances, approvals, and related documentation

  • Collaborate with department managers to address leaverelated matters
  • Utilize leave management systems to track and report on associate leave usage
  • Coordinate with relevant parties to ensure a seamless transition back to work
  • Associate Engagement & Support_
  • Work on strategies to enhance associate engagement through benefit programs
  • Seek feedback from associates to continuously improve the benefits package
  • Address associate inquiries and concerns related to benefits
  • Resolve issues related to claims, coverage, and other benefitrelated matters
  • Conduct educational sessions or workshops to help associates understand and make informed decisions regarding their benefits
  • Compliance Management _
  • Stay updated on relevant employment laws and regulations related to benefits
  • Ensure that benefit programs comply with legal requirements and industry standards
  • Ensure that organizations leave policies comply with legal requirements

Knowledge & Skill Qualifications:


  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and active listening. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and manage time effectively. Flexibility to adapt programs in response to organization changes and needs
  • Knowledge in applicable HR laws and regulations (federal and state)
  • Knowledge of insurance and retirement markets
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and to build trust across the organization
  • Commitment to staying updated on industry trends, legal changes, and evolving best practices
  • Excellent problemsolving skills, ability to work independently and on teams; excellent organizational skills
  • Competencies: analytical skills, critical thinking and reasoning, emotional intelligence, business acumen, creativity, problemsolving, cultural awareness and sensitivity

Education Qualifications:


  • Graduation from an accredited 4year University with a degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or other related field is preferred. HRspecific experience or military background may substitute for education
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in benefits administration required
  • Certification in Human Resources strongly preferred
