Overview - The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.
Posting Summary - Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Unit Computing Specialist for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). This Position reports to the Assistant Director of information Technology.
- UKG Dimensions time management system including the configuration of 185 networked time clock. User account management and access troubleshooting.
- Mobile device management. Knowledge of InTune MDM and Apple School Manager. Configure MDM policies for different user groups.
- Energy Management devices. Provides network troubleshooting and installation support for all energy management field controllers.
- Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- The Unit computing Specialist will provide end-user support to resolve hardware and software computing problems.
- Knowledge of MS-Windows 10 and MS-Office 365 software installation and troubleshooting.
- The unit Computing Specialist will support the IP&O HelpDesk staff with the setup and installation of workstations, laptops and peripheral devices.
- May also assist in the development of user procedures and security procedures and remains up to date in new development and Technologies.

Minimum Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses
- Valid driver's license.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with MDM systems, MS-Windows 10 and MS-Office Suite.
- Ability to absorb and retain information and conduct research into a wide range of computing related issues.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Must have excellent Verbal, written communication skills and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- MDM management experience
- MCSA and/or MCSE preferred
- Preferred experience working as an IT technician or computer science degree.
Equipment Utilized
- Network tracers for port discovery and troubleshooting. Hand and power tools to install networked hardware.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
