The CNS will have general expertise in surgical/procedural care. The CNS develops, implements and sustains clinical education/training and competency requirements for the clinical workforce within ASC utilizing evidence based practice. The CNS promotes excellence in nursing by disseminating current scientific knowledge, participating in research and acting as a role model.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Or equivalent educ/experience.
• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• upon hire: Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) certification in area of specialty (e.g., CCRN, CEN, CNOR, AORN, CGRN); must be current and maintained. If not present at time of hire, has 6-12 months to complete to maintain qualifications.
• 3 years Surgical/Procedural nursing care experience.
• 2 years CNS experience in Surgical/procedure area.

Preferred qualifications:

• upon hire: Basic and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) Instructor level.
• upon hire: Certified Nurse-Operating Room (CNOR) or Clinical Nurse Specialist Perioperative Certification (CNS-CP) or Certified RN First Assist (CRNFA)
• upon hire: Basic arrhythmia certification.
• 2 years Ambulatory surgical/procedural setting
