Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) III maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of biomedical equipment with mínimal supervision.

Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) III at
Hackensack Meridian _Health_** includes:
- Comprehensive knowledge level and experience in most or all facets of the job. Possesses an intermediate level of expertise and is capable of assisting less experienced technicians.
- Demonstrated ability to learn from others on the job. Can teach basic skills to Level I technicians. Optionally can mentor others in basic skills.
- Possesses comprehensive understanding and skills related to general electromechanical systems and devices.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of both local and national public safety and regulatory issues.
- Demonstrates the ability to solve service line customer service problems
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of clinical equipment, radiological, laboratory and network medical systems. 7. Has a basic understanding of project management terms and methods.
- May be required to travel to all Hackensack Meridian Health facilities and transporting equipment and/or materials required to facilitate repairs using a personal vehicle if a company vehicle is unavailable.
- May participate in oncall upon request and approval by Biomed site leader, Biomed Supervisor, and/or Biomed Director.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Minimum of 8 years' experience working in Biomedical Engineering with no degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience such as (AS in Electronics/BET with 6 years exp or BS in Electronics/BET with 4 years' exp in Biomedical Engineering)
- All skills required for BMET I and BMET II
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMMS, and NJDOH standards.
- Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported.
- Can provide comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care.
- Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support such as hospitals, clinics, etc.
- Has comprehensive experience in their assigned clinical environment.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- AS/BS Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Electronic Technology with 6 years experience working in Biomedical Engineering
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMMS, and NJDOH standards.
- Experience in a hospital or industrial environment with experience in hospital related equipment.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Valid US State Drivers License
