Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 units in early childhood education covering child development, family, community, and curriculum
• At least 6 months of experience in child interaction

(A partially qualified teacher should have 6 months of teaching experience, 6 units, and maintain enrollment in ECE courses until achieving the full 12 units. (A partially qualified teacher occupies an assistant role in the wage structure until completing all 12 units.)


Responsibilities:

• Supervising and interacting with children consistently
• Assisting in planning and executing the afternoon schedule
• Providing coverage during breaks
• Organizing and leading aftercare activities in line with Growing Light Curriculum Guidelines
• Attending regular staff meetings and continuing education sessions as directed by the Director, including staff training.
• Maintaining communication with the Headteacher to ensure consistent parent interactions and carry over students' individual goals into the afternoon
• Ensuring proper sign-out of all students before leaving the campus
• Leading small student groups
• Resetting classrooms, playgrounds, and shared areas at the end of the day according to closing procedures to establish a clean and safe environment for the next day's school start
• Reporting any issues, incidents, or parent inquiries to the campus director

Compensation:

- $ hourly rate PLUS paid breaks based on experience, class size, and completed coursework.

• 401K retirement package with 5% employer contribution match.
