Overview:
Duties:
- Admit and Discharge patients having ambulatory surgery.
- Circulate surgical cases.
- Perform preop and post op telephone calls to ascertain patient status and provide directions for care.
- Demonstrate proficiency in airway management techniques
- Assess patients on admission and develop plan of care in conjunction with anesthesia.
- Provide for the safety and function as a patient advocate in the operating room.
- Participate in Risk Management program
- Ability to multitask to include patient assessment and utilization of patient data to plan care of patient.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in documentation and communication
- Participate in ongoing policy and procedure review and implementation.
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical documentation including correct terminology.
- Knowledge of infection control processes including sterile techniques.
- Experience in administering injections and medications including tracking of controlled substances.
- Competence in airway assessment and management procedures
- Ability to process and track specimens accurately and efficiently
including report verificationPay:
$ $45.00 per hour
