JOB GOAL:
Assist with ensuring the efficient operation of the school office and/or administrative department


Essential and Marginal Functions:


  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Organize and promote a welcoming customerfocused office.
  • Provide primary secretarial services for the Principal/Assistant Principal/Department Supervisor as necessary.
  • Facilitates meeting agendas, logistics, and meetings.
  • Prepare, edit, and manage correspondence, communications, reports, presentations, maintain building/department social media accounts, and other documentations.
  • Support the budget, inventory, and purchasing processes, including contract management.
  • Manage complex projects as assigned.
  • Obtain, organize, and enter pertinent data in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Establish and maintain records, filing and scanning systems.
  • Assist in maintaining child accounting records as needed.
  • Serve as a vital liaison for communication involving staff, students, parents, and community.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate all clerical functions for the supervisor/department.
  • Assist in providing building/department information and procedures.
  • Maintain departmental policies, procedure manuals and work instructions.
  • Must be willing to engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:


  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years administrative support experience and/or equivalent training required.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting principles.
  • Ability to operate a computer and applicable software and devices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with strong knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to effectively organize and operate a welcoming customerfocused office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Ability to support a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to take initiative to creatively solve problems,
  • Ability to work as an individual and as a team member.
  • Ability to prioritize in order to meet strict timelines.
  • Other qualifications to the above that the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.

  • REPORTS TO: Principal/Assistant Principal or designee

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Job Calendar Specific


EVALUATION:
For new employees, evaluations will be performed according to the current collective bargaining agreement. For transferring employees, evaluations will be done at 30 days. All regular employees will be evaluated at least yearly.
