Description

Summary:
- Working with scientists, engineers, and other Barr staff members to assess ecological and regulatory constraints related to wetlands and biological resources for projects, preparing necessary reports and applications.
- Tasks may include wetland delineations, hydrology and vegetation monitoring, and natural resources inventories.
- Developing permit applications, environmental impact assessments, restoration plans, and engaging with regulatory agencies.

This is a full-time role with flexible hours depending on project and client requirements, considering candidates interested in both full-time and part-time positions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in ecology, wetlands science, biology, botany, or similar field
5 years of relevant professional experience
Experience in wetland delineations and Clean Water Act permitting
Familiarity with federal NEPA and state regulations, GPS, GIS tools, and basic computer skills
Ability to collaborate with local, state, and federal regulators, work independently, and as part of a team
Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, attention to detail, and organization skills
Flexibility and willingness to adjust schedules for project needs, occasional travel required
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship from Barr, valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in related field
6+ years of relevant professional experience
Experience in arid wetland ecology and Western region permitting
Proficiency in wetland delineations, Clean Water Act permitting, NEPA, state regulations
Willingness to conduct additional field work and knowledge of endangered species programs
Experience with Environmental Assessments (EA) and/or Impact Statements (EIS), consulting background

NOTE: Job locations may involve varied terrain, industrial settings, waste disposal sites, and hazardous material cleanup. Physical exams may be required, along with safety training and potential drug screening as per client requests.
