Position Summary:


The Production Specialist position performs direct manufacturing activities in the production department in support of the department objectives to provide goods and services that meet customer's requirements for quality, quantity, and timeliness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible to follow Medical Murray Quality system, including all applicable SOP's included in the Training Matrix
  • Personnel oversight
  • Provide support with interviewing and hiring of manufacturing personnel
  • Support onboarding of manufacturing personnel per the training matrix and new hire checklist
  • Assign production personnel to jobs, seeking appropriate support and guidance of manufacturing operations' supervisors and managers
  • Participate in training and development of manufacturing personnel for ongoing production for manufacturing procedures
  • Work with manufacturing, quality, and engineering departments to ensure compliance of, and adherence to, internal procedures and processes
  • Balance and review personnel time and expense entries
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching on team members' strengths and weaknesses to both the team member and supervisor
  • Contribute towards performance reviews
  • Line oversight
  • Oversee the areas of manufacturing to ensure that quality and delivery objectives are met in a costeffective manner
  • Coordinate equipment and line setups in conjunction with the Production Supervisor
  • Request support from manufacturing engineers, operation management, and Production Supervisor(s) as required
  • Support Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Corrective Action Reports (CAR) investigation and resolution
  • Ensure that targets for productivity are maintained
  • Review and submit Lot History Records associated with products built for production
  • Perform line clearance activities
  • Gathers and distributes materials and labels as required to ensure area of responsibility is working in an efficient, effective, and safe manner
  • Continuous improvements
  • Support continuous improvement projects with regards to quality, efficiency, and delivery
  • Become familiar and assist to generate data and prepare KPI's that monitor operational efficiency in key areas of Quality, Safety, Attendance, Productivity, and Scrap
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety requirements
  • Performs other duties as requested

Education and Experience:


  • Vocational
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience
  • Technical training or relevant experience is a strong plus
  • Experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Excellent critical thinking and problemsolving skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to manage time to meet organizational objectives
  • Experience in floor layout, tooling, fixturing, and Lean methods
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to work with a variety of groups in a matrix environment to facilitate and foster effective change
  • Ability to oversee and resolve conflict amongst peers and manufacturing groups
  • Strong computer skills and experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
