Job Summary:

Bartenders will be responsible to prepare and serve drinks/food to customers and able to mix and match ingredients in order to create classic and innovative drinks in accordance with customer's' needs and expectations.

The purpose of this position is to interact with the hotel guests and ensure they have a great experience at the bar or lounge.


Bartenders should maintain positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner.

Keep the bar counter and work area neat and clean at all times.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Obtain/Maintain Food Protection Certificate (a.k.a. "Food Handler's License")
  • Obtain/Maintain TIPS Certification
  • Take beverage orders from guests in a cheerful and pleasant manner. ƒ
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks consistent with the standard drink recipes.
  • Prepare and serve light food to hotel guests
  • Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer.
  • Accept guests' payments, process credit card charges and makes changes to guest accounts (if applicable).ƒ
  • Balance cash receipts.
  • Prepare and replenish garnishes for drinks.
  • Clean bottles and glasses and organize in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages. ƒ
  • Clear and reset tables in bar area. ƒ
  • Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
- ƒMaintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas. ƒƒ

  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
  • Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws.
  • Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.

Guest Service:

  • Provide personalized service to all guests.
- ƒAssists in maintaining guest service as the driving philosophy of the hotel.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to guest service by responding promptly to guest needs with interest and concern.
