    Job Summary:As a Laboratory Assistant, you will provide essential support to the laboratory team by assisting in various tasks related to sample preparation, equipment maintenance, and administrative duties. Your role is crucial in maintaining a smooth workflow within the laboratory and ensuring the efficient and accurate performance of laboratory procedures. This position is an entry-level role with opportunities for skill development and growth within the laboratory environment.
    Job Duties:
    • Sample Preparation: Assist in the preparation and handling of laboratory samples, including specimen collection, processing, and distribution.
    • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment under supervision. Follow standard operating procedures for equipment use and maintenance.
    • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and reagents. Keep inventory records up-to-date and assist in restocking as needed.
    • Data Entry: Enter data accurately into laboratory information systems (LIS) or other record-keeping systems. Assist in maintaining organized and comprehensive documentation.
    • Cleaning and Sterilization: Clean and sterilize laboratory glassware, instruments, and equipment. Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
    • Quality Control: Assist in quality control measures by following established protocols. Report any discrepancies or issues to supervisory staff.
    • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
    • Assistance in Research: Provide support to laboratory personnel involved in research projects. Follow instructions for experimental procedures and data collection.
    • Compliance: NM Techs are responsible for ensuring compliance with CA DPH regulations and adhering to the rules and regulations of the assigned hospitals and/or clinics. This encompasses maintaining licensures, participating in required trainings, and overseeing tasks such as retrieving medical records to uphold regulatory standards.
    Job Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous experience in clinical laboratory and/or specimen processing
    • Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
    • At least 6 months working in hospital
    • Current CPR Card issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
    • Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations or titers.
    • Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months
    • Current Annual Health Clearance
    • Reliable source of transportation
