The Gallery Books Group is seeking an experienced social media manager to join ourmarketing team.

As social media manager, the individual in this role will be responsible forall strategizing, schedulingand content creation for the Gallery Books social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok.

In addition to the day-to-day management of these platforms, the social media manager will also spearhead all influencer outreach, consult with authors on brand strategy, and collaborate with title marketers on creative ideas for specific book campaigns.

Role Description


The social media manager is responsible for:

  • Content creation for the Gallery Books Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and Threads accounts. Content creation includes taking photos, shooting and editing video, appearing in social content, organizing giveaways, and writing copy for all posts.
  • Managing the Gallery Books content calendar, planning ahead for future content, and capitalizing on opportunities to promote backlist titles.
  • Managing Gallery's Influencer Program and TikTok Shop presence.
  • Setting the agenda for and leading the weekly social media meeting with the Gallery Books marketing team.
  • Initiating conversations and collaborating with title marketing managers to develop social media marketing campaigns for priority titles.
  • Tracking analytics for digital marketing campaigns and social channel activity.
  • Setting key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns.
  • Annually analyzing Gallery's digital marketing plan and social media strategy and identifying strategic weaknesses and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Attending local and virtual events to document for social media channels.
  • Researching social media trends and informing management of changes that are relevant to the company's marketing activities.
  • Lead community management on Gallery social accounts such as liking, commenting, and reposting reader's posts primarily on Facebook and Instagram.
Role Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing branded social media platforms.
  • Experience working with paid and organic influencer outreach.
  • Excellent photography, videography, and writing skills.
  • Experience tracking and reporting on social analytics and data, including via social listening platforms such as Meltwater, Talkwalker, Klear, and ViralMoment.
  • Experience with social scheduling platforms such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite and Sprout.
  • Experience with design platforms, primarily Canva.
  • Excellent project management and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for and interest in engaging with social media trends and technology.
  • Being a social media influencer is a plus

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
