Description

This position is responsible for the helping with proper completion of refurbished and new elevator projects in the Refurb shop.


Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure the safety, reliability, and dependability in compliance with company policies as well as OSHA regulations.
  • Learn about the mechanical assembly and electrical components of elevators
  • Housekeeping of the shop.
  • Operate a forklift, soldering tools.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, paint, fabricate, weld, remodel, and construct on a variety of metal products from samples and sketches.
  • Perform manual forging, shaping, straightening, sizing, dressing and heat treating of metal products, etc.
  • Interpret drawings and prints.
  • Install metal products such as windows, fencing, doors, railings, etc.
  • Check equipment for proper operation, safety and or needed maintenance.
  • Operate acetylene cutting torch, welder, etc.
  • Operate a forklift, soldering tools.
  • Check in with direct manager daily

Requirements:


  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to read procedures
  • Ability to use tools
  • Ability to determine types of welds needed on various metals.
  • Must have valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Must be able to follow all safety procedures
  • Must work selfsufficiently
  • Punctuality
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Prefer 2 years of welding experience or welding certification repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of welding safety rules and procedures
  • Knowledge of methods, procedures, tools, materials, and equipment used in welding metal structures.
  • Ability to use tools
and equipment used in welding operations.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
  • Minimal travel
  • Must have valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Must be able to follow all safety procedures
  • Must work selfsufficiently

This job may require the following: working inside/outside an unairconditioned shop and walking outside for periods of time in varying weather conditions.

Sitting for extended periods of time, working extended hours and extensive travel. Must be able to climb, bend, twist, stoop and kneel. Must be able to regularly lift 25-50 lbs. and occasionally up to 150 lbs.


May require exposure to manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, respirator, safety glasses with side shields, hard hat, steel-toed boots, and mandatory hearing protection.
