    Job Description

    1st shift

    Operates machines to punch, blank, or bend metal into shapes.

    Position Responsibilities:

    1. Perform functions necessary as prescribed by Work Order and Blueprint.
    2. Interpret Blueprint and set-up equipment so that quality components to specification are produced with minimal input from others.
    3. Perform First Piece inspection as needed.
    4. Spot Welding as needed.
    5. Change tooling as needed
    6. Assure proper material types are loaded into equipment.
    7. Clean equipment, tools and gauges to ensure they are safe and orderly at all times
    8. Identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, effectively involve Operator and leads to draw valid conclusions
    9. Work on other Fabrication and paint equipment as needed.

    The most qualified candidates will demonstrate the following:

    • Machine operating experience
    • Able to spot/resistance weld. MIG and TIG welding experience is a plus.
    • Blueprint reading and mechanical abilities.
    • Must be able to read calipers and other metrology equipment.
    • Strong math skills (decimals, fractions, use of calculator).
    • Must be able to setup, operate and adjust machines as required.
    • Strong computer knowledge and skills.
    • Ability to perform moderate PM procedures.
    • Able to understand production planning requirements.
    • Must have excellent attendance record.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
