Overview:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Inclusive Design Consultation: Provide weekly expert reviews of user interfaces, design artifacts, highfidelity mockups, prototypes, and design system patterns. Deliver comprehensive summaries and recommendations aimed at enhancing inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Technical Implementation Guidance: Offer actionable recommendations, including lowfidelity visuals and usable frontend code snippets (CSS, JS) necessary for implementing enhancements.

Product Reviews:

Conduct regular assessments of products in development stages using assistive technology tools (e.g., JAWS, Dragon Naturally Speaking, ZoomText) to identify and remediate accessibility barriers.


  • Strategic Accessibility Reviews: Advise on accessibility and inclusivity across the full portfolio of online services, providing quarterly reports that evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of current services, with suggestions for improvements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Produce detailed analysis, guidance, specifications, and remediation plans as required, documenting all findings and recommendations in line with Section 508 compliance.

Compliance:


Ensure all ICT products meet the standards outlined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, 36 CFR, Appendix C to Part 1194, and related technical and functional performance criteria.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in web accessibility and inclusive design, particularly within federal frameworks.
  • Strong familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG guidelines.
  • Experience using and testing with various assistive technologies.
  • Ability to produce clear, comprehensive documentation and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
