Job Summary and Qualifications:


What qualifications you will need:


  • High School Graduate / GED.
  • Graduate from a Sterile Processing Technician school.
  • Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification or agreement to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Central Sterile experience required.

Responsibilities

  • As a Central Sterile Technician, you will disassemble, clean, assemble, sterilize, and store procedure trays, instruments, equipment and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic technique under direct supervision
  • In addition, you will complete requests to dispense equipment and supplies and maintaining department inventory
  • Tasks and Responsibilities, you will: Assembles all instrument procedure trays and kits according to the prescribed manner using content lists as a guide
  • Dispenses products requested for sterile and nonsterile equipment and supplies
  • Assigns priority to emergency requests and issues required supplies and equipment based on knowledge of procedure intended, Assembles instrument trays and supplies according to established aseptic technique
  • Disassembles and cleans equipment such as suction machines, IV monitors, heating pumps, wheelchairs and walkers using approved disinfectants, detergents, soaps and cleaners
  • Replaces lost or damaged parts such as tubes, containers and connectors from stock on hand
  • Examines sterilization/expiration dates on procedural trays and kits; cleans shelves and work areas and mops liquid spills from floors as necessary
