Amentum at GE Lafayette Aircraft Engine Assembly - 2nd Shift Janitor

Amentum at GE Lafayette Aircraft Engine Assembly is looking for a dedicated 2nd shift Janitor to join their Operations & Maintenance team at a major manufacturing plant in Lafayette, Indiana.

Responsibilities:

Performs high/low dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, spot cleaning, and trash removal.
Washes windows, walls, and restroom facilities.
Replenishes supplies as needed.
Operates floor cleaning, waxing, and polishing equipment, as well as various wet/dry vacuum cleaner models.
Inspects all equipment for proper operation.
Sweeps, mops, and/or scrubs hallways and stairs.
Identifies and reports safety hazards.
Assists in furniture and equipment movement.
Responds to customer inquiries and resolves complaints.
Implements improved work methods and procedures.
Ensures enforcement of safety policies and procedures.
Performs assigned duties and tasks.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
One year of custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping experience.
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Ability to obtain a security access badge.
May require overtime, weekends, holidays, and alternative schedules.

Physical/Special Requirements:

Regularly lift up to 30 lbs.
Work inside and outside in diverse weather conditions.
Climb ladders and stairs multiple times during shift.
Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and stretch repetitively.
Move extensively throughout the plant.
Interact with clients professionally and friendly.
Use safety equipment as needed.
Cope with job demands and stressors.

Preferred Qualifications:

Janitorial experience in a fast-paced, high visibility environment.
Experience with modern cleaning methods and materials.
Experience operating cleaning equipment.
