This is a 100% Contract position for 1 year with the possibility of extension or conversion to career status.

DESCRIPTION:

Oversees a comprehensive communications program for the Center for Microbiome Innovation with complex communications requirements. The communications program usually includes written, visual, digital and electronic communications. Works with management to develop and execute organizational communication and market branding strategy. Designs and implements information campaigns.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Knowledge of Microbiome research and/or industry.
  • Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills.
  • Experience creating clear, easytonavigate, informative, accurate, welldesigned, and functional web sites that provide web content consistent with the organization's message and in keeping with management directives and client objectives.
  • Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and / or broad general audiences.
  • Experience with and ability to use and learn software or platform including Adobe suite, CRM, Newsletter tools, Blog tools, Website platform management, etc.
  • Ability to comprehend academic research as well as industry needs and to write and translate the work in a way that is understandable to the general public.
  • Knowledge of the organization, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and a strong knowledge of current affairs, and issues in higher education and / or health sciences.
  • Thorough understanding and experience in all news / media mediums including the internet, social media and other emerging technologies.
  • Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and shortterm strategic communications plans.
  • Knowledge of location protocols and channels for communication internally and externally.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:


  • Evening and weekend work occasionally required.

Annual Full Pay Range:
$74,300 - $134,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)


Hourly Equivalent:
$ $64.42


Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.

The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
