Responsibilities:
- Process and manage referrals from healthcare providers and insurance companies
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals
- Coordinate appointments and schedule followup visits for patients
- Maintain accurate and uptodate medical records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure smooth referral process
- Communicate with patients regarding referral status and any necessary information
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology and coding (ICD9, ICD10)
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and requirements
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced medical office environment
