POSITION OVERVIEW


The Chemical Inventory Specialist is responsible for monitoring, controlling and ordering chemicals and consumables for production to ensure that the Company operational needs are met.

The Chemical Inventory Specialist should ensure a consistent supply chain and uninterrupted operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

With general supervision performs the following:

  • Enter and track chemical inventory in database (TrueChem)
  • Place chemistry orders as needed for production needs
  • Document chemistry analysis in database
  • Followup and track order dates and delivery targets to ensure timely delivery
  • Properly store and manage chemistry inventory per instructions
  • Monitor and control chemistry usage and replenish as needed
  • Clear and professional communicate with production operators
  • Coordinate with sales department regarding chemicals needed per job requirements
  • Focus on production chemistry
  • Order necessary consumables for production
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and costeffective procurement
  • Communicate any chemistry inventory problems which may impact business operations
  • Interact with cross functional team including operations, engineering, logistics, laboratory, and vendors as required
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance
  • Ensures all procurement activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies
  • Provide excellent internal customer service by being courteous, professional, and helpful during interactions
  • Works as an active team member by participating in problem solving, team building, and all other team activities to improve the processes, productivity, quality, etc. of the department
  • Assists other team members as required
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:


  • Basic knowledge of chemistry
  • Computer Skills: Must be computer literate, use of Microsoft Office is required
  • Reading Comprehension: Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, terms and contracts, and communications.
  • Writing Skills: Ability to write English of a level required for Company documents and computer software entry
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams and interacting with vendors and suppliers
  • Detail Oriented: Pays close attention when reviewing labels, instructions, SOP's

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

-
Required: High school diploma or equivalent with a focus on chemistry

Preferred:
Bachelors of Science in Chemistry or Biochemistry


Certifications/Licenses:
None


Experience:


Preferred:
Previous internship working with chemistry/chemicals


Compensation Range:

$22 - $28 per hour


ITAR REQUIREMENT

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.

Pay:
$ $28.00 per hour
