Collins Aerospace is looking to find a Quality Technician to work onsite in our Carlsbad, CA location for our STS-Visual Systems team

About Collins Aerospace Simulation and Training Solutions (STS) - Visual Systems.


Collins Aerospace Simulation and Training Solutions (STS) is an internationally recognized provider of simulation and training systems and related services to military and commercial markets.

STS provides advanced simulation and training systems for military, government and commercial customers across all domains (sea, air, and land) including FAA Level D Full Flight Simulators.


In this role as a Quality Assurance Technician (QAT) you will provide leadership in the quality of the assembly and build processes in accordance with applicable ISO9001:2015 guidelines and Collins Aerospace internal requirements.

The focus of the QAT is to identify existing and potential nonconformance's through inspection and audits of self-inspection.

As a QAT you will also help prevent defects through risk assessment and mitigation, corrective action, audits, process improvement and Cost of Nonconformance (CoNC) analysis and reduction.


This is an onsite position located in Carlsbad, CA. This position may be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Evaluates Collins Aerospace or supplier products and processes. Participates in crossfunctional efforts to ensure proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Maintains quality data records, compiles information, and prepares reports for internal and external customers.
  • Performs preliminary review and Material Review Board analysis and disposition of nonconforming processes, including First Article inspections.
  • Applies quality standards for receiving, inprocess, and final inspection.
  • Performs workmanship inspections.
  • Performs hardware, software, and system product acceptance tests.
  • Performs audits in accordance with Collins Aerospace/customer/industry standards, reports results, and assigns and monitors followup actions.
  • Performs duties required by the Quality Management System
  • Maintains equipment calibration and tooling tracking systems.
  • Maintains radiation safety certification.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

  • Highly motivated and selfdirected; Must possess the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with mínimal supervision and direction.
