Job Purpose:


In this impactful role, you'll orchestrate the power of our most valuable asset - our passionate volunteers - to create a brighter future for youth facing adversity.

As the
Volunteer Coordinator, you'll be the strategic force behind our program, collaborating with dedicated community members to plan, implement, and manage all aspects of volunteer engagement.

As an integral part of our program team, you'll actively contribute to exceeding organizational goals. This role also involves attending our programs, providing crucial support to mentors, youth, and Program Leads.

Flexibility is essential, with occasional evening and weekend hours required throughout the year.

This is an in-person position (office is located in Tempe).


Duties and Responsibilities_:
All responsibilities listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position._


Strategic Volunteer Program Management:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive volunteer recruitment plan aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Source new mentor and volunteer talent, building strong relationships with corporate, academic, and school partners.
  • Implement a robust volunteer lifecycle strategy, encompassing recruitment, training, retention, and recognition programs.

Growth and Innovation:

  • Continuously innovate and expand volunteer initiatives and programs to maximize their impact.
  • Collaborate with the management team to strategically integrate volunteers into program execution, fundraising, and special events.

Volunteer Engagement and Support:

  • Oversee volunteers directly at events like sports camps, Day to Play programs, and other volunteer opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and supportive volunteer environment, ensuring a rewarding experience for all.
  • Collaborate with volunteer resources to identify partnership opportunities that broaden Future for KIDS' reach.

Community Outreach and Representation:

  • Participate actively in community events, outreach activities, tabling, and educational initiatives.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for Future for KIDS at community functions, meetings, and collaborations.

Program and Team Support:

  • Provide ongoing support to Program Leaders, ensuring program success.
  • Organize and host volunteer appreciation events to recognize their contributions.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Non-Profit Management, Education, Human Resources) or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in volunteer recruitment, including developing strategies, conducting interviews, and onboarding new volunteers.
  • Strong community connections and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations (e.g., schools, corporations, universities).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience successfully developing and managing community relationships.
  • A passion for volunteering and a proven track record of nurturing and retaining volunteers.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with large volunteer teams and engaging with professionals in the nonprofit and educational sectors.
  • Ability to function independently while also demonstrating strong leadership qualities within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to persuade and articulate clearly in individual and group settings.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with database management software (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
  • A passion for working with youth and a strong understanding of child development (preferred).
  • Reliable transportation for occasional travel as needed.
  • Experience with a volunteer management platform (a plus, Volunteer Hub specifically is beneficial)

Working Conditions:
On occasions, you will be responsible for evening, weekend work, and working outdoors.


Physical Requirements:
You may be called upon to lift objects in the storage area, program events, and fund-raising events.


Pay:
$50, $55,000.00 per year
