We are looking for a Construction Trainee to join our team in middle Georgia, specifically, the Warner Robbins, Macon and Perry areas.

Position Summary:


  • To assist the Construction Manager
    in the completion of homes to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction

Essential Functions:

Core duties or tasks fundamental and not marginal to the performance of the job.

  • 1. Oversee community in Construction Manager's absence (i.e. weekly meetings, vacation, illness, homeowner orientations, etc.)
  • Meet with County/City Inspectors if Construction Manager is unavailable
  • Call in inspections in Construction Manager's absence
  • Send the request to move schedules to Area Construction Manager
  • Perform routine production activities
  • Change furnace filters and platforms
  • Conduct minor silt fence repairs
  • Repair tub, cabinet and vinyl window as needed
  • Repair minor cracks in drives and walks
  • Install replacements for damaged window sashes and screens
  • Install replacements or repair damaged exterior doors and interior woodwork
  • Install and maintain tub signs
  • Install shut off tags
  • Meet with and sign off on deliveries of materials when needed
  • Water lawns (seasonal)
  • Attend Quality Assurance walk and follow up to ensure Quality Assurance checklist is completed
  • Assist with Homeowner Orientation Sign off
  • Keep all drive barricades in place
  • Unlock and lock homes daily
  • Police community; review and enforce safety regulations
  • Install water meter location cards
  • Oversee building and painting of permit boards
  • Post building permit cards
  • Adjust/clean out water meter boxes so municipality will set meters
  • Aid Builder to ensure job site cleanliness
  • Attend and perform inspections
  • Slab
  • Foundation
  • Framing
  • Post-Mechanical
  • Final

Minimum Job Requirements:


Education:


  • Construction Management degree helpful.

Experience:


  • Residential construction (renovation or maintenance) is helpful.

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn proprietary software (SMART)

Other Skills:

  • Initiative
