Windows Packager/Automation Engineer

Location:
Raleigh, NC

Environment:
Hybrid (2 days on-site)

Position Status:
Contract-to-hire.

Clearance:
Public Trust

Pay rate:
$35/hr.

Position Description:

As a Windows Packaging and Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our Microsoft Workplace Modernization efforts, focusing on Windows 10 SAC and Office M365 Apps.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing scripted solutions to identify, evaluate, and remediate issues related to system health and performance.

Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and contribute to the research and evaluation of emerging technologies.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement scripted solutions using PowerShell, VBScript, etc., to address issues related to Windows 10 SAC and Office M365 Apps.

Monitor system health and performance, including critical services, disk space, CPU utilization, and event log review, and take proactive measures to remediate issues.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and contribute to the research and evaluation of emerging technologies.
Independently install, test, and implement complex component-level changes within the technology infrastructure.
Operate, maintain, and provide support for a variety of complex technology components.
Establish and maintain operational processes for delivering world-class technology platforms.
Analyze and resolve complex hardware and software problems with distributed systems.
Develop, plan, and manage project tasks, including providing regular status reports and maintaining project plans.
Provide training and documentation to less experienced team members.
Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure the quality of hardware/software products and applications.
Utilize change management procedures, including creating change requests and performing user assistance, training, and information sharing.
Provide on-site system or application support as required.
Maintain professional appearance and attitude in all interactions.

Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
5 or more years of experience in Windows packaging and automation.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, VBScript, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with endpoint management systems such as Tanium, MECM, Ivanti MDM/Neurons, and Active Directory.
