The Team & Role


The Product Organization team defines and implements the product vision, strategy and roadmap across Zuora's Billing, Revenue and Platform suite.

The team is made up of Product Managers, Product Strategists, Product Designers, Product Researchers and Functional Architects to drive the product direction, customer experience, pricing and packaging.

The team works closely with many parts of the organization, from Sales to Marketing, Global Services, Finance, and more.


This is a location specific position that requires you to regularly come into Zuora's headquarters in Redwood City, CA to be most effective.

What you'll do

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Vice President of Product Strategy to lead our product strategy and drive the evolution of our solutions.

The VP of Product Strategy will play a pivotal role in defining the direction of our product portfolio, identifying market opportunities, and driving growth through innovation and differentiation.

This role requires a seasoned leader with deep domain expertise in billing, payments, and subscription management, a strong strategic mindset, and a track record of driving product success in the SaaS industry.


Mission:


Define the product strategy for Zuora's Billing, Usage, Payments, and CPQ products, positioning Zuora as the undisputed leader in these domains.


Job Description:


  • Market Positioning and Research:
  • Research, synthesize, and communicate Zuora market positioning.
  • Analyze market trends, both macroeconomic and technological, to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Develop a market map to identify target markets and quantify the opportunity.
  • Define Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) for targeted marketing and sales efforts.
  • Customer and Strategic Innovation:
  • Meet with customers and prospects weekly to understand their needs, pain points, and requirements.
  • Articulate patterns in customer requirements and market dynamics to drive strategic innovation.
  • Develop and test databacked hypotheses on potential future markets for Zuora
  • Influence Product Roadmap:
  • Synthesize learnings from customer and strategic innovation to shape the product roadmap.
  • Rationalize and prioritize existing product roadmap based on customer feedback and market trends.
  • Drive Growth and Win Market Share:
  • Develop innovative approaches to develop pipeline and understand requirements in new markets.
  • Ensure customers, prospects, industry analysts, and financial analysts understand Zuora's vision.
Your experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10 plus years of proven track record of success in product management roles within the SaaS industry, with a strong focus on billing, payments, and subscription management solutions.
  • Deep domain expertise in billing processes and payment operations, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscape.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies and initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and datadriven decisionmaking approach, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw meaningful insights.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and driving continuous improvement in product offerings and market positioning.
