The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is the transportation planning, financing and coordinating agency for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area.
MTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the state designated Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area.
MTC provides services to the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG). For more information about MTC, visitMTC is hiring for one part-time Finance Temporary position for a year-round assignment.
This position is for an aspiring professional looking for an opportunity to gain professional work experience and training in an array of finance and accounting fields specifically in the areas of Accounts Payable and possibly Accounts Receivable.
This position will be working with MTC's Finance Operational Accounting Section and is a part-time position with a maximum of 999 hours per fiscal year (
July 1 through June 30).
The individual can work one year and up to one additional year after graduation; must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week and up to 20 hours per week (hours can be split during the week), with the opportunity to work more hours during the summer or school breaks.
MTC is a professional workplace and business casual attire is expected while at work.All employees at MTC are classified as Disaster Service Workers.
The ideal candidate must have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Strong organizational and time management skillsStrong written and oral communications skillsProficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPointDemonstrated analytical and accounting skillsPrior business, finance or accounting experience strongly desired or course work that is directly related
To be considered you must:
Be able to work onsite in our San Francisco office as neededBe enrolled at least part-time in a four-year undergraduate or graduate level curriculumMajor or Minor in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related fieldMust have taken or be enrolled in at least one Accounting class - Basic AccountingAttach a copy of your most current unofficial transcripts with your on-line application
